Not My Father's Daughter
Salma Hindy is a first-generation Egyptian-Canadian Stand-Up Comedian based in Los Angeles (previously New York by way of Toronto). She has opened for Ken Jeong, Ramy Youssef, Beth Stelling, and most recently a regular opener for Chelsea Handler (on her Vaccinated & Horny and Little Big Bitch Tour). Salma has just won a CSA (Canadian Academy Award) for her writing on This Hour Has 22 Minutes. She has performed at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal (New Faces 2020, Chelsea Handler Gala 2021) and is currently voicing a Series Regular on Ramy Youssef's new A24/Amazon adult animated series, #1 Happy Family USA. Her debut comedy album, Born on 9/11, has received rave reviews online. Salma has also given a Tedx Talk on her emotional journey in starting comedy called "Why People Pleasing is Hurting You." She has begun producing a monthly show in LA called Not My Father's Daughter. Salma also took to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023 performing a two-person dark comedy show called "Parallel" (recommended on British Comedy Guide), detailing how she escaped her self-righteous extremist upbringing and came to find her Jewish best friend, Danielle.
